Fighting the sweet cravings.

By:   Marlene Flowers   on   July 02, 2012

What alternatives do you use to fight the sweet cravings? I've noticed that every since I've been enjoying the Vantix Shakes and Dessert Pudding that my craving for chocolate has diminished. I love peanut butter cups and would have two of the mini cups every night. My husband bought me some about a week ago and they are still in the fridge, untouched.

I use discipline and many mirrors :) When I was young I would want to look good for others more than myself. Now I don't worry about what others think of my physical appearance instead that has changed to what I think about my body and health. Again lots of discipline.

Hmmm. I know this isn't much help, but I'm more interested to know why your husband would by you your favorite candy when he knows you're trying to watch your weight? Not exactly what I'd call supportive. Nice, but not supportive. You may want to get him on the program, yes?... as for cravings (don't laugh) beef jerky. Yee-haw. It's got huge protein, which seems to suppress my appetite, and it takes a really long time to chew. Works for me. Good luck with those peanut butter cups.

My post wasn't meant to point out that my husband is being non-supportive. He is actually very supportive. He bought the candy for me because he knows I like them but ultimately, it's my choice in what I digest. I was really trying to relay that I simply don't have the cravings like I did before.

Marlene, I feel your pain. I can tell my partner all day, every day, I'm watching what I eat so please don't buy this, that or the other and what does he do...buy everything I asked him not too...Why? Because he knows I like it and it's true, I love cake, kids sugary cereal, but as in your case it's up to me to NOT EAT IT and my partner tells me that every time...U don't have to eat it. He eats it and don't gain a pound...It seams that I can simply LOOK AT IT and gain 5 pounds...gggrrrr!!
