Eat Your Way To A Better Sex Life

By:   Julie Upton, MS, RD, CSSD

There’s more than just scant evidence that diet and exercise play important roles in how well women and men perform sexually.

By 'perform', we don't mean chandeliers and gymnastics (though there is a time and place for everything), but rather the mental and physiological cocktail that makes for good sex (we all know it when we have it) -- desire, passion, pleasure and fulfilment. There is also ample evidence that diet and exercise can impact a couple's ability to start a family, if that is their goal.

If you’re concerned that you’re not having steamy sex, not enough sex, or no sex at all, rest assured you’re not alone.

  • Consider these sex stats:
  • One in five married couples has a sexless relationship
  • 63% of US adults want more sex
  • Up to 30 percent of men have ED
  • About 15% of US couples are seeking treatment for infertility

Based on the latest studies about sexual and reproductive health and diet, here are 10 ways research shows that you can eat your way to a healthier sex life.
