Obsessed With Your Ex? Get Over It

By:   Stephanie O'Neill

Losing a love is certain to generate an array of overwhelming emotions within you, and it might even trigger some unflattering, obsessive behaviors. But clinging to a relationship that’s past its expiration date won’t extend its shelf life. Doing so only fans the flames of desperation that are a sure fire repellent to the potential Mr. Right in your future.

So how do you finally exile the ex?

Here are five tips to help you banish the ex-beau blues and revive your Lady Mojo.

1. Stop the Spy Games
The advent of Facebook and other social media has catapulted the art of stalking into a streamlined, on-demand service you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home. Granted, when you’re in the throes of a crushing split, it’s pretty darn tempting to click and spy – especially since you can do it without forking out nearly $4 a gallon for an old school drive-by.

But make no mistake, cybersquatting on your ex’s social sites is really no different. Lurking on his home page is like parking yourself across the street from his apartment on a Friday night. Not good.

Instead, shield yourself from that temptation. Unfriend him, or at least block his status updates from popping up on your home page.
